Abstract

Generally, elementary school students are not able to write procedure texts, even though they do it all the time. This procedure writing training tries to find solutions as easily as possible with various activities that students have experienced. The training aims to enable students to write procedural texts through personal experience with the right steps or stages, according to sequence or place. The training method for writing procedure texts was conducted in three stages: (1) modeling, (2) mentoring, and (3) independent text development. The selected text is based on personal experiences in students' daily lives. This is so that the learning can be practiced by them easily. The first training result showed that the students were generally unstructured in sequencing the places they traveled. Second, the students began to understand the spatial order. Third, the students have understood the stages in the activity. Fourth, the students began to be trained in writing procedure texts based on personal experience. In conclusion, the students were progressively able to write procedure texts independently although in a simple form.
