PENGEMBANGAN KEMAMPUAN MAHASISWA MENGELOLA PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INGGRIS UNTUK ANAK-ANAK MELALUI THE COMMUNITY ENGLISH PROGRAM (CEP)

Graduates of the English Study Program with a specialization in English Language Teaching (ELT) must be equipped with a lot of teaching experience, especially teaching target students. The need can be realized through community service programs by creating English courses for elementary school students around the campus. This program is called the Community English Program (CEP). Students of STBA LIA who were prospective teachers will be in charged to find prospective students for the course, conduct a placement tests, create material, teach, and prepare the talent shows at graduation ceremony. This activity was attended by 30 students. The implementation of CEP activities was guided by a coordinating lecturer. The results of this activity show that the CEP program can become a teaching laboratory for prospective English teacher as well as a community service activity from the STBA LIA campus. The students who study also got benefit because this activity provides them with knowledge and tools to practice teaching English which is local content at school. It can be concluded that the CEP activity is an integrated laboratory that makes students learn educational administration and teaching practices that are directly beneficial for children around the STBA LIA campus.
