PELATIHAN PENGEMBANGAN EKSTRAKURIKULER ENGLISH CLUB DI SEKOLAH MITRA

Abstract

The purpose of this community service is to provide training on developing English club extracurricular to representatives of high schools in Banten Province. Extracurriculars are activities that are held both inside and outside of school, outside of school hours that are tailored to the circumstances and needs of the school, and specifically designed to match the interests and talents of students. This activity is organized by schools to accommodate students talents and interests. Senior high schools in Banten Province also have various types of extracurricular activities, including the English Club. For English Club activities to be more developed and beneficial for students, the Department of English Education at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University held a service by providing training to develop English Clubs in their respective schools. The procedures of this service are preparation and implementation of the service. The stages of the activities carried out were theme setting, material preparation, tutor training, program socialization, and reflection. Service activities show good results. The participants managed to design extracurricular activities well. The activities outlined in the design show clear and purposeful stages. This service expects that plans have been prepared can be implemented to improve the English skills of high school students in Banten Province.
