Limitations in speaking to convey messages in front of others, such as nervousness and lack of confidence, are problems often experienced by training participants. These conditions have a negative impact on academic achievement and other social aspects, such as marginalization in the workplace or in social circles. To minimize or overcome nervousness and stuttering when speaking in public, appropriate and measurable actions need to be taken as a solution. This training aims to improve speaking skills by paraphrasing short films: story summary structure, core idea integrity, confidence and attitude, timing, and fluency. The service method was carried out descriptively and qualitatively by observing all participants as they retold the content of the short film. Although short, the film that was the object of study covered all aspects: storyline, ideal and controversial characters, place, time, and moral message. In general, the training results showed positive developments in various aspects of the participants' speaking skills. This indicates that speaking training through the above activities can improve delivery performance, confidence, and language. In conclusion, although not categorized as exceptional, the final achievement in speaking by retelling the content of short stories in Indonesian showed satisfactory results.
