Abstract

This article is about suicide (jisatsu) among Japanese elderly. 2009 was the period when the suicide numbers in Japan reached 30,000 people per year, and kept in that number every year. The suicide numbers among Japanede elderly (age 65 and over) in 2019 was 55 percent per 100,000 inhabitants of the total in the same year by age groups. The high number of suicide among Japanese elderly was influenced by many factors such as health problems, economic problems, family problems, and others.
